Our farm

We rebuilt our farm building in 2011 for the benefit of our animals.

A free-range barn has been built so that the animals can move around freely.
We deliberately do not use silage and only feed juicy hay from the surrounding mountain meadows.

We are a dairy and beef cattle farm. Therefore, we raise 2 breeds of cattle.

HOHLSTEIN Friesian cows for dairy farming:

In the morning and in the evening the cows are milked, so, every day at breakfast, you can enjoy the fresh hay-milk. We also use it to make our hay-milk yoghurt and fresh cheese! We deliver a large part of the milk to the Sexten Dairy Cooperative, which produces high-quality products from it: Cheese, butter, cream and curd cheese. At breakfast you will find a small selection of these products!

Original Tyrolean GREY CATTLE, an almost extinct breed, for suckler cow husbandry:

Suckler cow husbandry is characterised by the natural husbandry of the animals. The calves stay with their mother after birth, so the feeding consists mainly of dam's milk, later also of hay and grass. Through this natural rearing, we achieve first-class gourmet meat.

PIGS

We get our piglets of the Pietrain breed from the Unterpichlerhof in Stefansdorf near St. Lorenzen. The piglets spend only the first three most important months of their lives there. They are suckled by their mother sows and gradually get used to solid food. After that, the piglets are allowed to move freely on the pasture from spring onwards. In winter they are still housed in the barn. Fresh mountain air and plenty of free range as well as GMO-free feeding ensure that our pigs feel comfortable. This is the secret of the first-class quality of our meat.

CHICKENS

Our hens are also allowed to enjoy the lush green grass. Therefore, we have fresh eggs every day.

CATS

Our cats Molli, Nala, Lusy and Co. roam around the house and farm.

DOGS

The two little Pomeranians of the house Peppo and Lino love to run around.

Our children's paradise

Paradise
Lots of fun outdoors

Dear children!

What could be better than playing outdoors in the midst of nature, running around and much more?
The babbling of the brook, the chirping of the birds and much more is here that you hardly know from anywhere else. You can give free rein to your ideas, play hide and seek in the forest, collect pine cones, etc...
You can discover many new things. Excitement is guaranteed: Pet our cats, feed the chickens, watch the calves, watch the milking process, go for a tractor ride with farmer Paul, let off steam in the large playground...
Pure adventure!

Our farm garden

Nature

As soon as the days start to get longer in spring and the sun's rays become more intense, Margith the farmer's wife starts with the gardening. In the greenhouse she sows and plants all kinds of lettuce and vegetables so that they can be harvested early. It's a real feast for the eyes to see what's thriving even at this sea level. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, elderberries and redcurrants, plums and apricots ripen in the meadow orchard.
Many different herbs also belong in a proper farm garden. Not only the usual kitchen herbs such as chives, rosemary, parsley, marjoram, oregano, bay, thyme, lemon balm and blue fenugreek but also numerous varieties of mint such as apple mint, peppermint, hugo mint and orange mint grow in our herb garden.

You will also find centaury, chamomile, feverfew, mallow, marigold, cornflower and all kinds of nature's miracle remedies, to name but a few, in our herb garden.
